Emerson Fittipaldi became the youngest ever F1 world champion driving a Lotus 72 in 1972 at 25 years of age. He went on to take a second title with McLaren in 1974. Fittipaldi was snapped up by Colin Chapman to drive for the Lotus F2 team in 1970, he quickly graduated to the F1 team, following on from the tragic death of Jochen Rindt at the Italian GP in 1970. Fittipaldi left the McLaren F1 team in 1975 to join the Copersucar F1 team founded by his brother Wilson, but after struggling for success over many years he disappeared from the F1 scene and moved to Indycars. Emerson was successful in Indycars as well as F1, and took the Indy car world title, and a win in the Indianapolis 500.
