Marussia Confirms launch Date

The Marussia F1 Team has confirmed that its 2013 car designated the MR02 will be unveiled to the public on the opening day of the Jerez F1 test on 5th February. The car will be driven by Max Chilton, the team has yet to nominate a replacement for Timo Glock.

Glock exits Marussia

A joint statement from the Marussia F1 Team and driver Timo Glock has put an end to recent speculation that he would be leaving the Banbury based outfit. The statement mentioned tough economic conditions and a difficult commercial landscape as factors in the departure decision. Both Glock and the team inferred that the decision was a difficult but amicable one. Glock said he was excited about his future prospects and hoped to be able to provide details very soon. Meanwhile it remains to be seen what path Marussia will now take in appointing his replacement as the team has already signed F1 rookie Max Chilton and ideally must be looking for a more experienced partner for the young Brit. From the statement made it would seem inevitable that the replacement driver will need to bring with him a significant funding package to help bolster the teams financial burden and wherever you are on the grid that is a difficult hole to fill.

Max Chilton joins Marussia F1 Team

Max Chilton will become the fourth Briton on the grid in 2013 when he joins the Marussia F1 team. Chilton will drive alongside Timo Glock and secured his seat as a result of some impressive performances as their test driver.
